Queuedle

Slide rows and columns, feeding in letters from a queue, to build words.

Every day: A numbered Daily Queuedle (for example #498), the same 5x5 letter grid and 15-letter queue for everyone. You slide rows and columns, each pushing in the next letter from the queue, to form words for the highest score. New puzzle: Once a day.

Daily Queuedle 498: a queue of letters N, N, E, A, K above a letter grid with slide arrows on its edges, score 0

Queuedle is a daily word-sliding puzzle. A 5x5 grid of letters sits beside a queue of 15 more. Sliding a row or column pushes the next queued letter in from the edge, and every word you form scores a point per letter. You do not have to use the whole queue: the aim is the best score.

About Queuedle

Queuedle is a small daily browser game made by healeycodes, who has also written about how it was built and how to solve it. Each day there is one numbered puzzle, the same for all players.

The board is a 5x5 grid of letters with arrow buttons at the edges, and above it a queue of 15 letters. Each row or column can slide in only one direction; when you slide it, the next letter in the queue enters from that edge and a letter drops off the far side. As letters shift, words form across rows and down columns.

Each letter in a valid word is worth one point, using a Scrabble word list (words of three letters or more). You do not need to empty the queue; the game tracks your score and number of moves, and the goal is simply the highest score you can reach.

It suits players who like Scrabble-style word spotting combined with sliding-puzzle planning.

How to play Queuedle

  1. Look at the 5x5 letter grid and the queue of letters above it.
  2. Press an arrow to slide a row or column in its allowed direction.
  3. Watch the next queued letter enter and words form across and down.
  4. Keep sliding to build more and longer words, then stop at your best score.

Tips

  • Check which way each row and column can slide before planning.
  • Look ahead in the queue: the next letters decide where to slide.
  • Longer words score more, since every letter counts.
