A Ribbit board of linked letters next to a finished board of coloured frogs

Ribbit is a daily word game on Puzzmo, launched in May 2026. Sixteen letters sit on a 4 by 4 grid joined by lines, and you trace words of four or more letters along those lines. When every word that uses a letter has been found, the tile becomes a frog, and the goal is a board full of frogs.

About Ribbit

Ribbit arrived on Puzzmo in May 2026 from Zach Gage and the Puzzmo team; Puzzmo's credits list Gage for its design, and Brooke Husic edits it. It is an anagram game with a twist on the usual letter grid: letters are only connected where a line is drawn between them.

The board is sixteen letters in a 4 by 4 grid. Some letters link to several others, some to only one. You drag from letter to letter along the lines to spell words of four letters or more. There is no penalty for a wrong path; you just let go and try again. A gauge shows how many of the day's words you have found, and finding the longest word earns a star and extra points.

A tile turns into a frog once you have found every word that uses it, so the board slowly fills with frogs as you work. The frogs come in four colours and can be popped, a small hidden puzzle that depends on the order in which you clear the letters. When you finish, Ribbit makes a shareable scorecard with your time and how quickly you found the star word.

It suits players of Spelling Bee, Squaredle and Boggle who like finding every word in a set, and anyone who enjoys a puzzle with a secret to work out.

How to play Ribbit

  1. Open today's Ribbit on puzzmo.com or in the Puzzmo app.
  2. Study the 4 by 4 grid of letters and the lines that join them.
  3. Drag along the lines from letter to letter to spell a word of at least four letters, then let go.
  4. Keep finding words; a tile turns into a frog once every word using it has been found.
  5. Clear every tile to finish, and look for the longest word to earn the star.

Tips

  • Letters with many lines are in many words; work out their common pairings first.
  • A letter with only one line has to start or end its words, which narrows things down.
  • Watch the gauge to see how many words remain, and the star to judge the length of the longest one.
  • Try plurals and common endings such as -ER and -ED where the lines allow.

When does a letter turn into a frog?

When you have found every word on the day's list that uses that tile. There is no fixed number of uses.

What are the coloured frogs for?

They are a small hidden puzzle: you can pop them, and the result depends on the order in which you cleared the letters.
