Shap10r
Rate itCrack a hidden row of shape-and-colour pieces from clues and number totals, with one shared puzzle a day.
Every day: Daily Glimpse: one six-piece puzzle a day, the same for every player on the web and in the app, solved in six guesses, with its own leaderboards. Each day the answer is sorted either low to high or high to low. New puzzle: Midnight.

Shap10r is a code-breaking puzzle in which the answer is a row of Shaplors, pieces that pair one of three shapes with one of eight colours, each worth a number. Its Daily Glimpse mode gives every player the same six-piece puzzle each day to crack in six guesses. It is free on iPhone, iPad and in the browser.
About Shap10r
Shap10r is a puzzle game by William Scott Jensen, released on the App Store in April 2023 and now also playable in the browser. Its pieces are called Shaplors: 24 combinations of a shape (circle, square or heart) and a colour. Each Shaplor has a value made of its shape's value plus its colour's value, so a blue square might be worth 100 plus 5.
A round works like Mastermind. You fill a row with Shaplors and submit it. A green outline means the right piece in the right place, a yellow outline means the piece is in the answer but somewhere else, and the number beside each row gives the total of what you played, which helps you narrow down values. In the normal mode the answer is sorted from low to high, so the order of values is a clue too; hard mode drops the sorting.
The daily mode, Daily Glimpse, arrived in version 1.8. It is a six-piece answer and you get six guesses. Each day the answer is sorted either low to high or high to low, and part of the work is telling which. The developer's site says everyone plays the same Daily Glimpse each day on the web and on mobile, and that it resets at midnight. It has its own leaderboards for high scores, best times and puzzle solves. The open-ended mode is now called Just Play, with ten guesses for a five-piece answer and weekly leaderboards.
It suits players who like Mastermind and Wordle-style feedback but want a bit of arithmetic in the deduction. A colour deficiency mode is in the settings, and an Android version is said to be in progress.
How to play Shap10r
- Open Daily Glimpse to start the day's puzzle.
- Fill the row with six Shaplors, each a shape and a colour, and submit it.
- Read the outlines: green is the right piece in the right place, yellow is the right piece in the wrong place.
- Use the number total of each row to work out which shapes and colours are worth what.
- Remember the answer is sorted by value, low to high or high to low, and solve it within six guesses.

Tips
- Work out early which way today's answer is sorted: it tells you where high and low pieces must go.
- A Shaplor's value is its shape value plus its colour value, so two guesses that differ by one piece tell you the gap between those pieces.
- Avoid repeating a piece in a spot where it has already failed.
- Turn on the colour deficiency mode in Settings if the colours are hard to tell apart.
