Dungleon is a daily Wordle-like where the hidden answer is a dungeon: a row of five pixel-art pieces such as a knight, an archer, a skeleton or a chest. Guess the composition in six tries, using green, yellow and red feedback and the dungeon's secret rules.

About Dungleon

Dungleon is a daily puzzle by three indie developers who credit themselves as lipedal, brunoruchiga and clementdussol. It is available in Portuguese, English, German and Spanish.

Instead of a five-letter word, each day hides a dungeon made of five pieces: heroes, monsters and treasure drawn in pixel art. You build a guess from the piece keyboard. Pieces in the right spot turn green, pieces that are in the dungeon but somewhere else turn yellow, and pieces that are not in it turn red. You have six guesses.

What makes it more than a Wordle reskin is that dungeons follow secret rules about which pieces can sit where. They are never explained; working them out over many days lets you solve faster, and the community trades theories about them. Players who keep coming back unlock the Gauntlet, a second daily puzzle mode.

Each dungeon is numbered and the same for everyone (number 1699 when we checked). It suits Wordle players who want a deduction game with a fantasy look and a long-term mystery to crack.

How to play Dungleon

  1. Open dungleon.com; today's numbered dungeon is hidden.
  2. Pick five pieces from the keyboard of heroes, monsters and treasure and press Enter.
  3. Green means right piece in the right spot, yellow means in the dungeon but elsewhere, red means not there.
  4. Find the full dungeon within six guesses, then try the Gauntlet once unlocked.

Tips

  • Learn the secret rules over time: they limit which pieces can go where.
  • Use your early guesses to test many different pieces.
  • For extra challenge, reuse every green and yellow piece in later guesses.
