Alibi case #39: a brief about a bronze stolen at the Petit Musée vernissage above six witness cards with LIAR? buttons, two of them crossed off, and two red hearts

Alibi is a free browser logic puzzle with one theft case a day, the same for every player. Read the brief, read six witness statements and accuse the one whose account cannot be true. You have two hearts, so one wrong accusation is allowed.

About Alibi (Meridian)

Alibi is a short deduction puzzle built around a single question: who is lying? Each case opens with a brief of certain facts about an evening when something went missing, such as when the lights went out, when the group photo was taken, when the rain started or when the band stopped. Below it, six witnesses each give one line about where they were.

Five of the statements fit the brief and each other. Exactly one cannot, because it clashes with a fact, like someone taking the lift during a blackout or leaving before a photo every guest posed for. You can tap a card to cross off a testimony you have cleared, and a timeline panel helps line up the times. A wrong accusation costs one of your two hearts; a second miss and the liar walks free. A case takes about ninety seconds, and a new one arrives at midnight UTC.

An archive holds the last thirty cases, and archive cases do not affect your streak. A challenge link sends a friend the exact same case with your result to beat. The game picks one of sixteen languages automatically. It is made by Meridiangame, released free on itch.io in September 2026 and plays in the browser with no account; the page discloses that it was made with AI assistance.

Tips

  • Write down or keep in mind the key times from the brief, such as the blackout window and the photo time.
  • Look for statements that need something the brief rules out, like a working lift or light during a power cut.
  • Open the timeline panel to line the statements up against the facts.
