Move the family around the room to test what each one saw, and catch the one who is lying.

Every day: One numbered case a day (Daily #19, Grandpa's Study, on Wed 7 Oct 2026: who borrowed Grandpa's reading glasses?), the same for everyone: Dad, the Kid, Grandma and Rex the dog each say what they saw or smelled, and you move them around the room to find the one who is lying. New puzzle: Midnight, local time.

Lie of Sight is a daily find-the-liar puzzle set in a room seen from above. Each member of the Fibberson family says what they saw, or did not see, and each sees by their own rule; you drag them onto squares until every honest story holds at once, and the one that never can is the liar. A new numbered case arrives each midnight, the same for everyone.

About Lie of Sight

Lie of Sight is a free browser puzzle from Ember Works LLC, billed as a Fibberson family mystery. Every case is a small room seen from above, with furniture, walls and a few objects in it. Dad, the Kid, Grandma and Rex the dog each give a short story on a card: an eye for I saw it, a crossed-out eye for I did not see it, a nose for what Rex smelled. One of them is lying.

The puzzle is in how each of them sees. Dad sees his whole row and column, but walls and tall things such as bookshelves stop him. The Kid sees the same lines but is short, so tables and sofas block him too, and he can crawl under them. Grandma looks in all eight directions but only two squares. Rex cannot see at all and smells the eight squares around him, through anything. You drag the family onto squares, and each card turns green when its story is true where everyone stands and red when it is false. When everyone but one can be green at the same time, you tap Accuse on that one.

The daily case is numbered and dated, starting from Daily #1 on 19 September 2026, and a new one opens at midnight in your own time zone. Everyone gets the same case that day, with four of the family and green and red cards always shown. Each case starts at 1,000 points: a wrong guess costs 250, a hint 150, and time takes a point every two seconds up to 300. Accusing with everyone placed and every honest card green adds a tenth as a scene bonus. Your streak grows when you solve the daily on its day, and the last seven days stay free to play late.

Beyond the daily there are practice cases, 15 Case Files and 10 Tricky Cases, all free, plus ranks, badges and private groups that compare results on the daily. A one-time paid unlock adds every past daily, a personal case each day, a Detective mode with no colour help, and the Cat Files, 35 cases in which Fibs the cat watches only along diagonals. There are no ads and no account is needed to play.

How to play Lie of Sight

  1. Open lieofsight.com and press Play on today's numbered daily case.
  2. Read each card: an eye means the person says they saw that thing, a crossed-out eye means they did not, and a nose is what Rex smelled.
  3. Drag Dad, the Kid, Grandma and Rex onto squares; each card turns green when its story is true where everyone stands, red when it is false.
  4. Learn the sight rules: Dad sees along his row and column, the Kid is also blocked by low furniture, Grandma sees two squares in any direction, Rex smells the eight squares around him.
  5. When all but one card can be green at once, tap Accuse on that card and tap again to confirm. You have three guesses.

Tips

  • Start with Grandma or Rex: their stories reach only two squares or one ring of squares, so they have few places to stand.
  • A did-not-see story is evidence too: if Dad did not see the clock, he is not in its row or column unless a wall or something tall is in between.
  • If no square turns a card green however you move people, that card is the liar and you can stop looking.
  • Place everyone and make every honest card green before accusing to earn the scene bonus of a tenth on your score.

Questions

Is the Lie of Sight daily case the same for everyone?

Yes. Everyone gets the same numbered case on a given date, and a new one opens at midnight in your own time zone.

Is Lie of Sight free?

The daily, the last week of dailies, practice, the 15 Case Files and 10 Tricky Cases are free with no ads. A one-time unlock adds past dailies, Detective mode, a personal daily case and the Cat Files.

Do I need to place everyone correctly to win?

No. You win by accusing the liar. Placing everyone so every honest card is green only adds a scene bonus to your score.

What happens if I accuse the wrong person?

A wrong guess costs 250 points and you carry on. If you use all your guesses, the liar gets away and the case scores 0.
