Set and Run
Place one part a round, drop the ball, and live with every part you have already placed.
Every day: A Daily mode whose board, parts and targets are shuffled from the day's seed, so every player gets the same endless run that day and plays it until three misses, for points and a ranking. New puzzle: Midnight Japan time (15:00 UTC).

Set and Run is a physics puzzle where each round hands you one part, such as a conveyor, springboard or fan, and one target for a falling ball. Parts that work stay on the board for good, so later rounds are solved with the machine you have already built. The Daily mode builds an endless run from the day's seed, the same for everyone.
About Set and Run
Set and Run is a browser puzzle by ojimero, published on itch.io in September 2026. It is drawn like marker on graph paper and plays on a portrait screen. The board is a grid with a few fixed blocks; at the top sits the ball's drop point and somewhere below sits a ring-shaped target.
Each round you are given exactly one part: a belt that carries the ball left or right, a springboard that bounces it high, a fan that pushes it up as it passes, a block that cuts the path, a bumper that sends it back the way it came, or a brake that kills its sideways speed so it drops straight down. You place the part on any cell, press GO and watch the ball fall. If it reaches the target, the part is inked onto the page and never comes off.
That is the whole twist: the board is never cleared, so every part you placed twenty rounds ago is still there, helping or getting in the way. Three misses end the run. Normal mode is 30 fixed rounds that are the same for everyone and can be learned. Daily mode shuffles the board, the parts and the targets from the day's seed and has no ending, so the question is how far you get. Scores are in points, and there is an online ranking with your place and the top five.
Every round is checked to be solvable before it is served. It suits people who like small contraption and chain-reaction puzzles and want a run that gets harder because of their own earlier choices.
How to play Set and Run
- Open the itch.io page and choose Daily (or Normal for the 30 fixed rounds).
- Look at the part you were given and where the round's target sits.
- Tap a cell to place the part; tap it again to take it back, or tap another cell to move it.
- Tap GO to drop the ball; if it reaches the target, the part stays on the board for good.
- Keep going round after round; three misses end the run and your score goes to the ranking.

Tips
- Think about later rounds: a part placed in the middle of the board will affect many future drops.
- Use the brake when you need the ball to fall straight down into a target below it.
- A block both stops the ball and cuts off a path, so place it where it will not trap later targets.
- Normal mode uses the same 30 rounds every time, so it is a good place to learn how each part behaves.
Questions
Is the Set and Run daily the same for everyone?
Yes. Daily mode builds its board, parts and targets from the day's date, so every player gets the same run that day.
When does the daily change?
At midnight Japan time, which is 15:00 UTC.
How does a run end?
After three misses. Daily mode has no last round, so you play until you run out of misses.
Is Set and Run free?
Yes. It is free to play in the browser on itch.io, with no install.
