Revealed (Britannica)
Uncover a blacked-out Britannica article word by word and name its subject.
Every day: One dated puzzle a day for everyone: a short Britannica article with its key words blacked out, labelled with a category (Science & Tech on 3 October 2026); guess words to uncover the text until you can name the subject. New puzzle: Once a day (the site does not state the time).

Revealed is Britannica's daily hidden-article puzzle. Each day shows a short encyclopedia entry with its important words hidden behind blocks, and a category hint. Guess words to fill them in, and work out what the article is about.
About Revealed (Britannica)
Revealed brings the Redactle idea to Encyclopaedia Britannica. The day's puzzle is dated and tagged with a broad category; on 3 October 2026 it was Science & Tech, and the visible skeleton read along the lines of "... is a derivative of ... that is a mild ... useful in the ... of ... and ...". The small linking words are shown, the meaningful ones are blacked out, and the title at the top is hidden too.
You guess words you think the article contains, and correct guesses fill in the hidden blocks, so the shape of the text slowly gives away the subject. The aim is to work out what the article describes.
It is free in the browser, part of the Britannica games page alongside Tightrope and others, and shares a games newsletter with Merriam-Webster.
It suits players who enjoy Redactle or Pedantle and like a puzzle that rewards general knowledge and patient reasoning.
How to play Revealed (Britannica)
- Open today's Revealed and note the category.
- Read the visible linking words to get a sense of the article's structure.
- Type words you think appear in the article; correct guesses fill in hidden blocks.
- Use the uncovered words to narrow down the subject.
- Name the subject to solve the day's puzzle.
Tips
- Start with words almost any article in the category would use (for Science & Tech: used, made, called, energy, process).
- Watch the length of blocks: a long one near the start is often the subject's name.
- Once you have a theory, guess its typical related words to confirm it.
