Rarest Answer
Rate itSeven open prompts a day: name a correct answer few other players think of.
Every day: Seven new open trivia prompts a day, the same for every player, each scored by how few other players gave your correct answer. New puzzle: Midnight UTC (00:00 UTC).

Rarest Answer is a free daily trivia game with seven open prompts, such as naming a fruit that is not red. You have 25 seconds to type one correct answer to each, and the fewer players who gave the same answer, the more points it scores. Each answer turns up a gem, from a plain stone for the obvious one to a diamond for an answer almost nobody gave.
About Rarest Answer
Rarest Answer turns the usual trivia question around. There is no single right answer to each prompt: any correct answer counts, and what matters is how many other players thought of the same one. Name a striped animal and a zebra will score little, while something far fewer people reach for scores close to the full 100 points.
Every day at midnight UTC a new Daily Dig of seven prompts appears, the same for everyone. Each prompt gives you 25 seconds to type an answer. A wrong answer only costs time, so you can try again until the clock runs out. After each answer the game shows what share of players gave it and digs up a gem to match: stone for the most common answers, then quartz, amethyst, sapphire, ruby and diamond for answers given by about 0.1 percent of players or fewer. Seven prompts make a maximum of 700 points, and you can share your row of gems.
The questions are written for the game, each with a list of accepted answers and their spellings. Small typos, capitals, accents and plurals are forgiven, and a correct answer that is not on the list yet is checked once and then counted for everyone. Early in the day the percentages are blended with the game's own estimate until enough real answers come in.
Beyond the daily set there is an Unlimited mode with endless rounds by topic (animals, food and drink, places, film and TV, music, sports, games, science), duels and rooms of up to 30 friends on the same questions, and friends leagues with a standing leaderboard. Past days have their own archive pages with the questions and what players answered. It plays in the browser in English or Spanish, with no sign-up. It suits players of Krillion and other rare-answer games, and anyone who likes thinking past the first answer that comes to mind.

Tips
- Skip the first answer that comes to mind: it is usually the one most players give.
- Think of a narrow corner of the topic, such as a regional dish or a lesser known species, but make sure it truly fits the prompt.
- Do not spend too long hunting for the perfect rare answer: a common correct answer still scores, and a timeout scores nothing.
- Use Unlimited rounds by topic to practise before the daily set.
