Ranking Puzzles daily puzzles on Puzzleship

Ranking Puzzles start with a results table that the scorekeeper wrote down badly: everything is in the right column, but only one entry per column is in the right row. You drag entries within their columns until every clue about the results is true.

About Ranking Puzzles (Puzzleship)

Each entry shows a small number for where it started. Entries stay in their own column and only their row changes, and you know that exactly one entry per column was already right. Clues describe relative positions, such as one entry finishing two places behind another, and each turns green when the table satisfies it.

The one-already-correct rule works as a clue in reverse: once a column is settled, every other entry in it must have moved, which rules out any arrangement leaving a second entry where it began. Distance clues are strongest near the top and bottom, and two clues about the same entry often combine into a fixed gap.

Puzzleship publishes six tables of Ranking Puzzles a day, graded from very easy to ultra hard. Each day's tables are numbered and dated, the same for every player, and appear at midnight in your own time zone; earlier days stay playable in the archive. The site is free with ads, and a premium plan removes them.

How to play Ranking Puzzles (Puzzleship)

  1. Open Ranking Puzzles and pick one of the day's six tables.
  2. Read the clues about relative finishing positions.
  3. Drag an entry to swap it with another in the same column.
  4. Remember that exactly one entry per column started in the right row.
  5. Finish when every clue has turned green.

Tips

  • Use the one-correct-entry rule to rule out arrangements.
  • An entry three places ahead of another cannot sit in the bottom three rows.
  • Chain clues about the same entry before moving anything.
  • Settle one column fully, then use it to anchor the others.
