Porchlight (Dayzle)
Rate itDeliver every parcel in a toy town and bring the van home, planning when to refuel on a small tank.
Every day: One toy town a day, the same for every player: a depot, houses waiting for parcels, petrol stations, a fuel tank size and a par in moves. Monday and Tuesday have one station, Wednesday to Saturday two and Sunday three; roadworks close a street on Wednesday, Friday and the weekend, and a one-way block appears from Thursday. New puzzle: Midnight, local time.

Porchlight is a daily delivery route puzzle on Dayzle. You drive a van block by block round a small isometric town, dropping a parcel at each marked house and returning to the depot; every block burns fuel from a small tank, so the order of stops and where you refuel decide whether you match par.
About Porchlight (Dayzle)
Porchlight is one of the eighteen daily games on Dayzle, a site of original puzzles from TLL Studios in Valencia. Each day at local midnight it sets one town, the same for everyone.
The town is drawn at a 45 degree angle: streets between houses, shops, parks and a fountain square. The van starts on the yellow pad by the orange-roofed warehouse with a full tank. Drag it along the streets, tap a street next to it or use the arrow keys, one block per move. A house with a parcel badge has a dashed ring on the street in front; drive onto the ring to deliver.
Every move burns one unit of fuel, and the tank holds fewer units than the whole round, so you must stop at a petrol station, which fills the tank to the top. At zero the van cannot move and you undo. Later in the week roadworks close a street, a one-way block forces a direction, and some towns have dead ends you drive into and back out of.
Par is the fewest moves possible. Matching it gives three stars, up to three over gives two, more gives one; since every round has an even number of moves, the next score after par is par plus 2. Undo and Start over are free, and the dashed orange line shows your route so far.
The shared result shows your moves, par, a parcel per delivery and how many times you refuelled, never your route. Past editions stay open for practice and never count.
How to play Porchlight (Dayzle)
- Look at today's town: the depot by the orange-roofed warehouse, the houses with parcel badges, the petrol stations and the par beside the move counter.
- Drag the van along the streets, one block per move, and drive onto each dashed ring to deliver that parcel.
- Watch the fuel gauge and drive onto a petrol station to refill before it runs out.
- Return to the depot once every parcel is delivered; at par the day ends by itself.

Tips
- Count before you set off: the gauge equals your moves left, so if the round is longer than the tank, plan the station stop first.
- Nearest first is rarely best; try the round the other way or start with the parcel next to the station.
- Refuel late, since a stop with a nearly full tank wastes the detour.
- Fetch a parcel down a dead end when you pass that corner anyway, because it always costs a there and back.
Questions
When does the Porchlight town change?
At midnight in your own time zone, with the same town for everyone that day.
What happens if the van runs out of fuel?
It cannot move. Undo back to before you ran dry and plan a stop at a petrol station.
Why does the score jump from par to par plus 2?
Every round that leaves and returns to the depot has an even number of moves, so par plus 1 is impossible.
Is Porchlight free?
Yes. It plays in the browser with no account, and past editions are free for practice.
