Plotwords is a daily movie trivia game: the film is hidden behind a list of plot keywords, and you try to guess it after revealing as few of them as possible.

About Plotwords

Plotwords is a daily movie trivia game. Each day there is one film, the same for everyone, hidden behind a list of plot keywords, and the challenge is to name it after revealing as few of those keywords as you can.

You start with a single keyword and type your guess for the film. If you are not sure, a Skip button turns over the next keyword, and a counter tracks how many clues you have used out of fifteen. The keywords tend to move from vague, scene-setting words toward more revealing ones, so the fewer you need, the better your result.

Guessing from only one or two keywords is the real test, since an early clue such as a country or a theme could fit many films. The game is free to play and carries banner ads.

It suits film buffs who like working from thin clues and anyone who enjoys a quick daily guess that rewards wide movie knowledge.

How to play Plotwords

  1. Read the first plot keyword for the day's film.
  2. Type a movie title and press Submit.
  3. If you are unsure, press Skip to reveal the next keyword; a counter shows clues used out of 15.
  4. Keep guessing, aiming to name the film from as few keywords as possible.
  5. Fewer clues used means a better result.

Tips

  • Resist skipping too fast: try a guess on the first keyword or two, since that is where the game rewards you most.
  • Early keywords are broad (a country, a setting); wait for a specific name or event if several films fit.
  • Think across eras and countries, as the answers are not limited to recent Hollywood films.
