Pìbera

Fill the grid with runs of falling numbers until every edge total reaches zero.

Every day: One number grid a day, generated from the date, so everyone playing on that date gets the same puzzle; past days can be browsed in a history. New puzzle: Midnight in your local time (the puzzle follows your device's date).

Pìbera 6x6 grid mid-solve with green decreasing number runs, edge totals and checks, a move counter and timer

Pìbera is a free daily number puzzle in the browser. You lay sequences of decreasing numbers, each ending in 1, across a grid, and every number subtracts from the totals at the edge of its row and column. Bring every total to zero to solve the day's puzzle.

About Pìbera

Pìbera, by 4lbertoC, is a logic puzzle built on one idea: runs of decreasing numbers. Some cells start with a number, and from each one you extend a sequence downwards, one step at a time into a neighbouring cell, until it reaches 1. Each number you place is subtracted from the totals shown at the end of its row and its column. When every edge total hits zero, it turns into a green check, and the puzzle is solved.

A number cannot repeat in the same row or column, some cells hide obstacles that a sequence cannot cross (tap the eye to reveal one), and you can change your mind by tapping any number in a run to cut it back or send it another way. A move counter and a timer run under the grid.

The daily puzzle is generated from the date, so everyone playing on the same date gets the same grid, and the game says a new puzzle will appear tomorrow. A History screen lets you look back over past days, and a separate endless mode makes random grids. A short tutorial teaches the rules in two steps, and the game is translated into English, German, Italian, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese, Chinese and Korean.

It plays free in the browser at its own site and on itch.io, with no account. It suits players who like Kakuro-style sums but want a puzzle that takes a few minutes.

How to play Pìbera

  1. Open Pìbera; a short tutorial explains the rules the first time.
  2. Tap a starting number to see where the next lower number can go.
  3. Tap a highlighted neighbouring cell to place it, and keep going until the sequence reaches 1.
  4. Watch the row and column totals at the edges drop as you place numbers.
  5. Solve the puzzle when every edge total is zero and shows a green check, then share your result.

Tips

  • Start with the edge totals that are small; only a few numbers can fit there.
  • Remember that a number cannot repeat in the same row or column.
  • Tap a number twice to delete its sequence from that point and try a different path.
  • Reveal obstacles with the eye before you plan a long run.
