Overbid
Rate itSix hidden numbers a day: bid as high as you dare, but never go over.
Every day: Six numbered questions a day, the same for everyone, each hiding a figure: bid as high as you dare without going over. New puzzle: Midnight UTC.

Overbid is a daily number game of nerve. Each of the day's six questions hides a figure you cannot look up, and you bid under it, raising as often as your chosen number of bids allows. Stop close to the answer for big points; go one over and the round pays nothing.
About Overbid
Overbid gives everyone the same six questions a day, numbered (Daily No. 30 on 5 October 2026). Each hides a real figure with a named source, shown when the round ends, and a floor the answer is guaranteed to be at or above. Before you see each question, knowing only its category, you choose 1, 2 or 3 bids: one bid plays for up to 2,000 points, two for 1,400 and three for 1,000.
Then you bid a number you think is below the answer. If it holds, you can Bank the points or Raise to a higher bid, but you never learn how close you are: a surviving bid only tells you the answer is higher. A round pays its maximum times the bid divided by the answer to the power of 1.5, so stopping at 70 per cent of a 1,000 point round pays 586 and at 90 per cent pays 854, while a dead-on hit pays the full amount. One bid over the answer and the round pays zero.
The daily can be played once, and the next six arrive at midnight UTC. Past dailies can still be played from the archive, and Match lets you send a friend the same six questions through a challenge link and compare your climbs. It is free with no account.
How to play Overbid
- For each question, choose 1, 2 or 3 bids before you see it: fewer bids play for more points.
- Read the question and its floor, then bid a number you think is below the hidden answer.
- If your bid holds, Bank the points or Raise to a higher bid.
- Stop before you go over: one bid above the answer scores zero for the round.
- Finish all six questions and compare your score, or challenge a friend in Match.

Tips
- Take three bids on categories you know little about, so you can feel your way up.
- Remember a surviving bid only says the answer is higher, never how much higher.
- Use the floor: your first bid must beat it, and it hints at the scale of the answer.
- Stopping at 90 per cent pays far more than 70 per cent, so push when you are confident.
