About Nonogram Arena

Nonogram Arena is a nonogram (picross) app for iPhone and Android. Each row and column has clues listing the runs of filled cells in order, and you work out which squares must be filled and which crossed out until a picture appears. Every puzzle has exactly one solution, so it can be reasoned out without guessing.

The home screen leads with Today's Nonogram: one fresh grid a day that everyone plays, with a countdown to the next one and your streak. Your solve time goes on the daily leaderboard. A wrong guess costs time rather than a life, so the clock keeps score. Tap to fill, drag to sweep a run, auto-cross the rest of a finished line, and use a hint when you want one.

Beyond the daily there is solo play from 5x5 to 20x20 at three difficulties, the Tower where grids grow floor by floor, live Battles against a friend on the same grid, Co-op on one board, and friend challenges sent as a link. XP, ranks, themes and cell styles round it out. The daily and solo play work as a guest; a free account adds leaderboards and live rooms. It is free with optional rewarded ads and a one-time purchase to remove them.

How to play Nonogram Arena

1. Open Today's Nonogram from the home screen and press Play now.
2. Read the clues: each number is a run of filled cells in that row or column, in order, with gaps between runs.
3. Tap cells to fill them, or switch to Mark to cross out cells you have ruled out; drag to fill a whole run.
4. Keep going until every clue is satisfied and the picture appears.
5. Check your time on the daily leaderboard and come back for the next grid.

Tips

• Start with the largest clues: a run longer than half the line always fills some middle cells.
• Use auto-cross once a line's runs are placed, to save taps and time.
• A wrong fill costs time, so mark empty cells with X when you are sure, before filling.
• Practise on 10x10 solo grids to get faster for the daily.
