Nondle's 10x10 Daily board for Oct 17 with its row and column clues, the timer running and today's field beside it

Nondle is a free daily nonogram played in the browser. Each day brings a 6x6 Mini, a 10x10 Daily and a 12x12 Challenge, the same boards for everyone. You fill squares from the row and column clues against a clock, and a wrong finished line costs ten seconds, so clean deduction pays on the leaderboard.

About Nondle

Nondle is a browser game built around the nonogram, the picture logic puzzle also known as Picross or Griddlers. Each row and column carries a list of numbers, and each number is a run of filled squares in that line, in order, with at least one empty square between runs. Working back and forth between rows and columns, you fill the squares that must be filled and mark the ones that must stay empty until the whole grid matches its clues.

Every day the site puts up three boards for all players at once: a 6x6 Mini as a warm-up, the main 10x10 Daily Nondle, and a larger 12x12 Challenge. The site says each board has one logical solution, and a new set arrives at midnight Eastern. A countdown on the page shows when the next one unlocks.

The clock starts only when you press Start, so you can open the page early. Play counts as a ranked run: you may fill freely, but completing a row or column that turns out to be wrong adds ten seconds to your time. Pausing takes the run out of ranked play. When a line has all of its filled squares, Nondle marks the rest empty for you, with a short undo prompt if that was a slip, and finished correct lines lock so a stray click cannot break them. The auto-marking can be switched off in the preferences.

You can play as a guest or sign in with Google or an email link to keep a public Nondle alias, your completion history and your streak. Finishing a board shows your time, your global rank and the day's leaderboard, and gives a result to share. An archive holds past Mini, Daily and Challenge boards for practice that does not touch the day's ranking, and the site has a guided tutorial and a page of beginner tips. It suits nonogram players who like a timed race and newcomers who want a small board to start on.

How to play Nondle

  1. Open nondle.com and choose Mini (6x6), Daily (10x10) or Challenge (12x12).
  2. Press Start today's Nondle; the timer begins only then.
  3. Read the clues: each number on a row or column is a run of filled squares in that line, in order, with at least one empty square between runs.
  4. Fill the squares that must be filled, or drag to paint several in a line; switch to Mark (X) to note squares that must stay empty.
  5. When a line has all its filled squares, the rest are marked empty for you; use the undo prompt if that was a mistake.
  6. Avoid completing a line wrongly: each wrong finished row or column adds ten seconds.
  7. Finish the grid to see your time, rank and streak, then share the result or look at the leaderboard.

Tips

  • Start with the largest clues: in a 10x10 line, a run of 7 must cover the middle four squares wherever it sits.
  • A line whose clues and gaps add up to the full width can be filled straight away.
  • Mark empty squares as you go; an X is often what unlocks the crossing line.
  • Play the Mini first if you are new: the guided tutorial and the archive let you practise without touching the day's ranking.
  • Do not pause in the middle of a run you want ranked, since pausing moves it out of ranked competition.

Questions

When does Nondle reset?

The site says a new set of three boards arrives at midnight Eastern Time, and a countdown on the page shows the time left until the next one.

Do I need an account to play Nondle?

No. You can play as a guest. Signing in with Google or an email link keeps a public Nondle alias and your completion history; the alias is generated and does not show your name or email.

Can I play older Nondle puzzles?

Yes. The archive has past Mini, Daily and Challenge boards, and playing them does not affect the day's ranking or your streak.

What happens if I fill a line wrong?

You can fill freely, but completing a row or column that is wrong adds ten seconds to your time.
