Nationalysis card from GuessDash: buy data clues and name the country, with a line chart and flag icon

Nationalysis is a daily geography game on GuessDash. You start with 1,000 points and one chart about a hidden country, spend points to reveal more charts, and have six guesses to name it.

About Nationalysis (GuessDash)

Nationalysis is one of the free daily games on GuessDash, a site of guessing games about geography, history, art and data. Each day has one dated board with a mystery country, the same for every player.

The country appears only as a set of charts. In each one its line is drawn in cyan against a grey band showing the middle half of all countries, so you can see whether it is richer, older, sportier or warmer than most. The first chart, income per person over time, is free. Sixteen more sit in four groups: Economy (income, trade, tourists, electricity mix), People (population growth, age pyramid, women in parliament, research fields), Sports and fame (Summer and Winter Olympics, FIFA ranking, Wikipedia attention) and Food and nature (capital climate, staple foods, livestock, land cover).

You begin with 1,000 points. Each extra chart costs 80, and each wrong guess costs 200 and draws that country's line on the charts so you can compare. Solve within six guesses to keep what is left. The data comes from public sources such as the World Bank, the UN, FAOSTAT and NASA.

It suits players who enjoy statistics and world knowledge, and who like deciding which clue is worth paying for.

How to play Nationalysis (GuessDash)

  1. Open Nationalysis to see today's board and the free income chart.
  2. Compare the cyan line for the mystery country with the grey band for the middle half of the world.
  3. Spend 80 points to reveal another clue chart if you need it.
  4. Search for a country and guess; a miss costs 200 points and draws its line for comparison.
  5. Name the country within six guesses to keep your remaining points.

Tips

  • Pick clues that split the world sharply, such as climate or Winter Olympics medals, before narrower ones.
  • A wrong guess is not wasted: its line on the charts shows which way the answer differs.
  • Do not buy every chart; each costs as much as a fraction of a miss, so stop when you are fairly sure.
