Microsoft Ultimate Word Games is a free Windows collection of three word games: Crosswords, Wordament and Word Twister. Each one has a Daily Challenge that changes every day, and completing enough challenges in a month earns badges. Signing in with a Microsoft account adds Xbox achievements, leaderboards and cloud saves.
About Microsoft Ultimate Word Games
Microsoft Ultimate Word Games bundles three of Microsoft's casual word games into one Windows app. Crosswords offers grids in several sizes and difficulties, Wordament asks you to find as many words as you can on a 4x4 grid of letter tiles, and Word Twister (shown as Jumble in some artwork) gives you a rack of letters to make words from.
The daily side of the collection is the Daily Challenge: each of the three games has its own challenge every day, so there are three to play. Players report that everyone gets the same daily puzzles, which is why answer guides for the crossword challenges circulate online. Completing enough Daily Challenges in a month earns special badges.
Outside the dailies there are single-player adventure maps with up to three stars per puzzle, and Wordament also has a live multiplayer mode in which thousands of players race on the same board. Signing in with a Microsoft account links Xbox achievements, friend leaderboards and statistics, and stores progress in the cloud.
It suits Windows players who want a word-game habit with variety, from a calm crossword to a fast Wordament round.
