Macro Data Refinement
Sort a screen of drifting digits into the day's five buckets, office-drone style.
Every day: A daily field of drifting digits and five refinement buckets (for example Fibonacci, mirror-symmetric, even, less than 4, digits with loops), generated from the date so everyone gets the same grid and goals. New puzzle: Midnight local time.

Macro Data Refinement is a daily number game from nibble.games inspired by the office work in the TV series Severance. You select touching groups of digits that fit each bucket's rule and drop them in; bigger valid groups score more, and a single wrong digit scores zero.
About Macro Data Refinement
Macro Data Refinement takes its name and look from the mysterious number-sorting job in Severance: a dark screen full of blue digits that wobble and drift, and a row of bins at the bottom. Here the bins have plain rules. One might want Fibonacci digits (1, 2, 3, 5, 8), another even digits, mirror-symmetric digits (0, 1, 8), digits below 4, or digits with loops (0, 6, 8, 9).
For each bucket you select the largest group of touching digits that all fit its rule and tap the bucket to refine them. Your score for a bucket is the sum of the digits times the number of digits selected, but it drops to zero if any digit in the group breaks the rule. At the end the game shows your results for the day next to the maximum possible score, and you can share them.
The digit grid and the day's five buckets are generated from the date, so everyone playing on the same day sorts the same numbers. The game is one of several free daily games on nibble.games, alongside MapTap, Swapple, Noggle and Kuromasu, and is also reachable at refiner.gg.
It suits fans of the show and anyone who likes a quick, visual number hunt with a clear score to improve on.
How to play Macro Data Refinement
- Read the rule for the highlighted bucket, such as 'Select Fibonacci numbers (1,2,3,5,8)'.
- Select a group of touching digits that all fit that rule; larger groups score more.
- Tap the bucket to refine the group: the score is the sum of the digits times how many you picked, or zero if any digit is wrong.
- Fill all five buckets, then compare your total with the day's maximum and share your result.
Tips
- Scan for big clusters before you start selecting; one large valid group beats several small ones.
- Double-check edge digits, since one invalid digit wipes out the whole bucket.
- High digits are worth more, so for rules like 'even' or 'loops' look for groups rich in 8s and 9s.
- Learn the fixed sets: loops are 0, 6, 8, 9; mirror digits are 0, 1, 8; Fibonacci digits are 1, 2, 3, 5, 8.
