Swapple
Swap letters to rebuild a 5x5 grid of words in as few moves as you can.
Every day: A numbered 5x5 word grid each day in Easy and Hard versions, scrambled the same way for every player: swap letters back into place in as few swaps as possible. New puzzle: Once a day; the puzzle number counts days since 30 April 2025.

Swapple is a daily 5x5 word puzzle from nibble.games, the site behind MapTap. You drag letters to swap them until every row and column spells a word, with green and yellow colours as hints. Each numbered puzzle comes in an Easy and a Hard version, and fewer swaps earn more stars.
About Swapple
Swapple appears on nibble.games next to MapTap and the logic game Noggle. The puzzle number is worked out from the date, counting from 30 April 2025, so Swapple #520 was the puzzle for 2 October 2026. The game generates the scramble from a seed tied to the day, which means every player starts from the same jumbled grid, and it refuses to load a different number than today's.
The grid is five by five, and words run across and down. Drag a letter onto another to swap them. A green tile is already in the right place; a yellow tile belongs somewhere in the same row or column. The panel under the grid tells you how many swaps earn five stars (11 or fewer on #520) and the best possible score (9 that day).
There is a Daily Easy and a Daily Hard. An undo button takes back your last swap, and when you finish you can copy a spoiler-free score to share. No account is needed.
It suits players who like Waffle and other letter-swapping puzzles, and anyone who enjoys optimising a solution rather than just finding it.
How to play Swapple
- Open Swapple on nibble.games and choose Daily Easy or Daily Hard.
- Drag one letter onto another to swap them.
- Green letters are in the right place; yellow letters are in the right row or column.
- Keep swapping until every row and column spells a word.
- Try to finish within the target number of swaps to earn five stars, then share your score.
Tips
- Read the target under the grid first: it tells you the best possible number of swaps.
- Before swapping, work out which word each row and column must be; random swaps waste moves.
- A swap that puts two letters into their correct places at once is the most efficient move.
- Use Undo if a swap was a mistake; it is better than fixing it with extra swaps later.
Questions
Is Swapple the same puzzle for everyone?
Yes. The puzzle number follows the date and the scramble comes from a daily seed, so all players get the same grid.
What is the difference between Easy and Hard?
They are separate daily puzzles; Hard is meant for players who find Easy too simple.
Do I need an account?
No. It plays free in the browser.
