Guess The Grid
Swap scrambled letters until every row and column of the day's grid spells a word.
Every day: A new numbered grid of scrambled letters each day, the same for everyone, to swap back into words across and down. New puzzle: Once a day (a countdown on the page shows the time to the next game).

Guess The Grid is a numbered daily puzzle from the makers of Guess The Game. The day's letters start out of place, and you drag one onto another to swap them until every row and column reads as a word.
About Guess The Grid
Guess The Grid is one of the daily web puzzles from the team behind Guess The Game, next to sites such as Guess The Secret Word and Guess The Phrase. There is one numbered grid a day for every player, and a countdown shows when the next one starts.
The grid holds words that read left to right along the rows and top to bottom down the columns, with blank squares in between. All the right letters are there, but scrambled. You drag a letter onto another to swap the two.
After each swap the tiles are coloured: green means the letter is in its right place, orange means it belongs to that word but in another spot, and grey means it belongs to a different word. A colour-blind mode adds a tick and a tilde to the tiles. Every swap counts as a guess, so the fewer swaps you need, the more points you score.
It will feel familiar to Waffle players and suits anyone who likes short word puzzles that reward planning over trial and error.
How to play Guess The Grid
- Open the site to get today's numbered grid.
- Drag one letter onto another to swap them.
- Read the colours: green is right, orange is in the right word but wrong spot, grey belongs to another word.
- Keep swapping until every row and column spells a word.
- Use as few swaps as you can for a higher score.
Tips
- Fix grey letters first: one swap can often put two grey letters in their own words at once.
- Work out the full words before moving, so each swap places at least one letter for good.
- Turn on colour-blind mode if orange and green are hard to tell apart.
