GeoGolf round 5, hole 1 of 5 (Players): Where was Gary Player born, over a green and blue globe showing the Atlantic, with a score of 0 of 1000

GeoGolf is a daily golf geography quiz. Each day brings five questions, called holes, about golf courses, players and famous moments, and you answer each by tapping where it is on a globe; the closer to the pin, the more points.

About GeoGolf

GeoGolf asks five golf questions a day whose answers all live somewhere on Earth: a famous course, a player's hometown, the place a legendary shot was struck. A round on 7 October 2026 opened with Where was Gary Player born.

For each hole you spin and zoom the globe and tap where you think the answer is. You can tap again to adjust until you press Take the shot; after that it is final, and the pin is shown at once with how far you missed.

Each hole is worth up to 100 points, set only by the miles between your ball and the pin. The penalty is steep close in and gentler far out, so 100 miles off still scores 93 while 1,000 miles scores 49. The back holes weigh more: holes 1 and 2 count once, hole 3 counts double and holes 4 and 5 count triple, for a perfect card of 1,000.

Everyone plays the same five holes, so scores compare directly. Sign your card with a name to appear on the day's top 50, and your streak counts the days in a row you have finished the round. The archive lets you replay past rounds for practice, without touching your streak or the leaderboard. Progress stays in your browser with no account.

How to play GeoGolf

  1. Open geogolfgame.com and press Tee off.
  2. Read the hole's question, then spin and zoom the globe.
  3. Tap where you think the answer is, adjust if needed, and press Take the shot.
  4. See the pin and your distance, then play the remaining holes; holes 3 to 5 count extra.
  5. Sign your card to join the day's leaderboard.

Tips

  • Save your care for holes 4 and 5: they count triple, so a long miss there costs more than on hole 1.
  • Zoom in before taking the shot; once you are in the right country, a few hundred miles is the difference between par and eagle.
  • If unsure, aim for the middle of the likely region: far misses still score a little.
