Focus (Mind Loft)
Rate itName the day's photo from a close crop that pulls back with every miss.
Every day: One zoomed-in photo a day, the same for every player, on that weekday's subject: name it, and each wrong name pulls the camera back one of six frames. New puzzle: Midnight US Eastern Time.

Focus is a free daily picture game from Mind Loft. One photo a day is shown first as a tight crop at nine times magnification; type its name and pick it from the list. Every wrong name pulls the camera back a frame, and the sixth frame is the whole photo with one last guess.
About Focus (Mind Loft)
Focus is a zoomed-photo guessing game. The day's photo opens as a close crop, and you name it by typing and choosing from the day's list of answers. A wrong name widens the view by one frame; there are six frames in all, and the sixth shows the whole picture for a final guess.
The earlier you name it, the more it pays: frame 1 is worth 6 points and frame 6 is worth 1, while a miss on the full photo scores 0. Ties on the leaderboard break on fewest wrong guesses, then time. Each weekday has its own subject: Space on Sunday, then Landmarks, Animals, Paintings, Machines, faces from the history books, and the world from above on Saturday.
Mind Loft's tip is to read texture rather than colour in the first frame: brushstroke, fur, rivets, brick or the grain of a print tell you what kind of thing you are looking at. Photos come from Wikimedia Commons under public-domain or Creative Commons licences, with the author and licence shown on the reveal. A new photo appears at midnight Eastern every day.

Tips
- Check the day's subject first; it narrows the list a lot.
- Look at texture and material before colour.
- Only guess on frame 1 when one name on the list clearly fits; a miss costs you a frame.
