Cluster
Rate itSort sixteen words into four hidden groups of four before your fourth mistake.
Every day: One new board of sixteen words a day, the same for everyone, hiding four groups of four; it comes with a daily leaderboard and streaks. New puzzle: Midnight UTC.

Cluster is a free browser word puzzle in the Connections style. Each day everyone gets the same sixteen words, which split into four groups of four that share something, and you have four mistakes to find them all. Every past puzzle stays playable in the archive.
About Cluster
Cluster is a daily word-grouping puzzle from cyber-jack, the small studio behind Letterly. It runs in any browser with no account and no download, and you can add it to your phone's home screen.
Each day's board shows sixteen words on tiles. Hidden among them are four groups of four that share a connection: colours, parts of a book, words that end the same way, or something less obvious. You pick four tiles you think belong together and submit them. A right group locks in with its colour, yellow for the easiest through green and blue to purple for the trickiest. A wrong one costs one of your four mistakes, and after the fourth the puzzle ends and shows the answers.
The boards are built with decoys: a word like ORANGE can sit in a colour group or with fruit, so the obvious set of four is often wrong. Shuffle rearranges the tiles when you need a fresh look.
A new puzzle arrives at midnight UTC, numbered so players can compare. Alongside it there is a scores page with a daily leaderboard, a stats page with your streak, and an archive with every earlier puzzle, which you can play with no daily limit. It suits anyone who plays NYT Connections and wants a second board, or a backlog to work through.
How to play Cluster
- Read all sixteen words on the board before you pick anything.
- Tap four words you think share a connection.
- Press Submit. A correct group locks in with its colour; a wrong one uses up one of your four mistakes.
- Use Shuffle to rearrange the tiles and Deselect All to clear your picks.
- Find all four groups before your fourth mistake, then play past puzzles from the Archive if you want more.

Tips
- Look for a word that could fit two groups and leave it until one of those groups is settled.
- Start with the group you are surest of; the purple group is usually the hardest and comes last.
- Read the words as parts of phrases too: FARM, HARM and CHARM share an ending as well as a sound.
