Categories is a word-grouping puzzle on Arkadium, much like Connections but with a choice of grid size. Pick a 3x3, 4x4 or 5x5 board and sort its words into three, four or five hidden groups. A Reveal button solves one group when you are stuck, and the number of attempts is limited.

Categories is a word-grouping puzzle on Arkadium, the online games portal. It works like Connections: you get a grid of words and sort them into hidden groups that each share a theme.
What sets it apart is the choice of board. A 3x3 grid hides three groups, a 4x4 hides four and a 5x5 hides five, so you can take a quick round or a harder one. New boards are posted each day, with a leaderboard for that day's players and an archive of earlier ones.
You tap the words you think belong together and press Submit. A correct group locks in; a wrong one costs one of your limited chances, shown as hearts. Shuffle rearranges the tiles, Deselect clears your pick, and a Reveal button solves one group when you are stuck. The aim is to clear the whole board with as few mistakes as you can.
It needs no account to play and suits anyone who likes Connections-style lateral thinking and wants to choose how long the puzzle takes.
