Cinections
Sort sixteen films into four groups of four.
Every day: One board of 16 films a day, the same for every player: sort them into four groups of four that share a director, a star or a story element. New puzzle: Midnight, local time (Actorle's puzzles follow the date on your device).

Cinections is Actorle's daily movie version of Connections. Sixteen film titles sit on the board, and you sort them into four hidden groups of four: films by the same director, films with the same star, or films that share something in their story. A new board comes every day.
About Cinections
Cinections is one of the daily games on Actorle, the film trivia site best known for its mystery actor puzzle, alongside Storyboard, Fill the Grid and StarWords. It takes the shape of the New York Times' Connections and fills it with films.
Each day's board has sixteen titles. Four groups of four are hidden among them, and each group shares one thing: a director, a lead actor, or an element of the story, such as a heist, a time loop or a wedding. You pick four films you think belong together and submit them. A correct group is locked in and set aside; a wrong one counts against you.
The trick, as in Connections, is the overlap. A film can look as if it fits two groups, and the story groups are usually the hardest to see, because you have to think about what happens in a film rather than who made it.
It suits Connections players who watch a lot of films, and Actorle players who want a second daily puzzle.
How to play Cinections
- Open Cinections on Actorle and look at the sixteen films.
- Find four films you think share a director, a star or a story element.
- Select them and submit the group.
- A correct group is revealed and removed; a wrong one counts as a mistake.
- Keep going until all four groups are found, then share your result.
Tips
- Start with the group you are surest of, usually a director or star, to clear the board.
- Look for films that could fit two groups and hold them back until the end.
- Think about plots, not only credits: one group is often a shared story element.
- If four films seem too easy, check for a fifth that also fits.
