PuzzGrid
Rate itOnly Connect style walls: sort sixteen clues into four groups against the clock.
Every day: A Grid of the day and a Ladder of the day picked from the users' puzzles and shown on the home page for everyone (Grid #123466 by Arviragus on October 5, 2026), alongside a Grid and a Ladder of the week. New puzzle: Daily (the site does not give a time).

PuzzGrid is a free site of connecting walls in the style of the BBC quiz Only Connect, made by its users. Each day the home page names a Grid of the day and a Ladder of the day: sort sixteen clues into four groups of four, past the red herrings, then name each link.
About PuzzGrid
PuzzGrid takes the connecting wall from the BBC game show Only Connect and opens it to everyone. Each grid is sixteen tiles of words or names, and the job is to find four groups of four that share a link, with clues planted to fit more than one group. A timer runs while you work, and you score for each group you find and for naming the links, which the setter's list of accepted answers checks.
Thousands of grids are submitted by players and rated by the community, which also sets their difficulty from Easy to Fiendish, and they can be filtered by region and language. To give everyone a shared starting point, the home page picks a Grid of the day and a Ladder of the day, with a Grid and a Ladder of the week, each credited to its setter.
The site is free with ads; PuzzGrid Pro removes them and adds hints and fuller statistics. It suits Only Connect viewers and players of Connections who want harder walls with more misdirection, and the day's grid gives regulars one puzzle in common to talk about in the site's chat.
How to play PuzzGrid
- Open PuzzGrid and choose the Grid of the day from the home page.
- Click four tiles you think share a link; a correct group locks together.
- Keep finding groups before the clock runs out, watching for clues that fit more than one group.
- Once the wall is solved, type the link for each group to score more points.
- Try the Ladder of the day, or browse thousands of other grids by difficulty.
Tips
- Find the group with the fewest possible members first; the red herrings usually belong to the larger, vaguer groups.
- Say the clues aloud: hidden words, homophones and anagrams are common links.
- When two groups compete for a tile, look for a fifth candidate for one of them.

Is PuzzGrid free?

What is the Grid of the day?
A grid the site features on its home page for that day, credited to its setter, so everyone can play the same wall.
