Conlextions
Lex Friedman's daily take on Connections: four groups of four.
Every day: One numbered grid a day, the same for everyone: sixteen terms to sort into four groups of four that share a connection, timed and ranked on a daily leaderboard. New puzzle: Once a day; each puzzle is numbered and dated, and the site does not state the time.

Conlextions is Lex.Games' daily puzzle in the style of the New York Times Connections: a grid of sixteen terms hides four groups of four, and you pick four at a time to find each group, told when you are one word away. Solves are timed and ranked on that day's leaderboard.
About Conlextions
Conlextions is one of the daily word games Lex Friedman makes for Lex.Games, and the site credits the New York Times Connections as its inspiration. Each numbered puzzle shows sixteen words or names. They split into four groups of four, every item belongs to exactly one group, and some items are planted to look as if they fit more than one.
On 2 October 2026, puzzle #1119, the four groups were office supplies, Ninja Turtles characters, jazz styles and words for small pieces, a typical mix of everyday vocabulary and pop culture.
You select four items and submit. The game tells you if the set is right, wrong, or just one word away. A timer runs from the start, finished solves go on that puzzle's leaderboard, and the share button copies your result. When you are done the site points you to the next Lex.Games daily, Six Appeal.
Conlextions is free on the web and in the Lex.Games app for iPhone and iPad; an optional upgrade unlocks the PRO games. It suits Connections players who want a second grid each day, with a clock and a leaderboard.
How to play Conlextions
- Open lex.games/connections and read all sixteen items before selecting anything.
- Click four items you think share a connection and submit them.
- If the set is right it is locked in as a group; if the game says one word away, swap one item and try again.
- Keep going until all four groups are found.
- Share your time or check the day's leaderboard.
Tips
- Look for an item that could fit two groups and leave it until the end; the planted overlaps are the main trap.
- Find the most specific group first (names from one show, styles of one music genre) before broad ones.
- One word away means three of your four are right; change the one you were least sure of.
- The clock is running, but a wrong guess costs more than a few seconds of thought.
