Cliffhanger

Movie hangman: guess the day's film title one letter at a time.

Every day: One movie title a day, the same for every player, played as hangman: guess letters, with a blurred still from the film that sharpens after each miss and five wrong letters allowed. New puzzle: Once a day; the site shows a countdown to the next game but does not state the time.

Cliffhanger, Jumoh's daily movie hangman game

Cliffhanger is a daily movie hangman game from Jumoh. The day's film title is shown as blank spaces, and you guess letters one at a time; every wrong letter costs an X, and five misses end the game. A blurred screenshot from the film gets clearer with every wrong guess.

About Cliffhanger

Cliffhanger is one of the small daily games on Jumoh. It is plain hangman, except that every answer is the title of a popular film and you get a picture to help.

The title appears as a row of blanks, one for each letter. You guess a letter with the keyboard or the on-screen buttons. If it is in the title, every copy of it is filled in; if not, you get an X. Five wrong letters and you lose. Beside the blanks is a screenshot from the film, blurred at first, that becomes clearer with each wrong guess, so a miss also buys you a better look.

You can play once a day, and a new film is chosen each day. The stats track games played and won, perfect games with no wrong letters, and the letters players pick most and least.

It suits anyone who likes Wordle-style letter guessing and knows their films, and it rewards reading the shape of a title as much as remembering it.

How to play Cliffhanger

  1. Open Cliffhanger and look at the blanks for the day's film title.
  2. Guess a letter with the keyboard or the on-screen buttons.
  3. A correct letter fills every place it appears; a wrong one adds an X.
  4. Use the blurred screenshot, which sharpens after each miss.
  5. Fill the whole title before your fifth wrong letter.

Tips

  • Start with common vowels and with T, S, R and N.
  • Look at word lengths: short words such as THE, OF and A fill in fast.
  • A wrong guess sharpens the picture, so a late miss can still pay off.
  • Watch for numbers in sequel titles.
