Citle is a free daily city guessing game from the language-learning site OwnSlides. Each day it shows a hand-made plush illustration of one city, its landmarks, food and what it is known for, and you have up to five guesses to name it, by search or on a world map. Each miss unlocks a new hint and lowers your score.

About Citle

Citle is one of the daily games on OwnSlides, a language-learning site run by Devcraft in Lithuania. The puzzle is a single picture: a famous city drawn as a soft plush scene, with its buildings, dishes and symbols. A new city appears every day at midnight UTC, numbered, and everyone gets the same one.

You can type the city's name and pick it from the search, or tap it on a world map, then press Guess. You have five guesses. The picture is shown from the start; each wrong guess unlocks another hint, from facts about the city and its flag and emblem to the number of letters in its name and its first and last letters. Every hint you need lowers your score.

There is one attempt a day and no account is needed. With a free account you keep a streak, earn points and appear on the day's leaderboard. The game can be played in some twenty languages, from English and Spanish to Korean, Arabic and Lithuanian.

It suits players who like geography but would rather read a picture than a satellite map, and who enjoy spotting a city from its food or a landmark.

How to play Citle

  1. Open Citle and press Play to see the day's plush picture.
  2. Look for landmarks, dishes and symbols that point to one city.
  3. Type the city's name and pick it from the list, or tap it on the world map, then press Guess.
  4. If you miss, read the newly unlocked hint and guess again.
  5. Find the city within five guesses, then check the leaderboard and come back after midnight UTC.

Tips

  • Food and buildings are usually the strongest clues in the picture; look at each corner before guessing.
  • Your first guess costs nothing extra, so commit to your best idea.
  • The flag and emblem hint narrows the country fast when the picture leaves you between two places.
  • Create a free account if you want your streak and points kept.
