Battleships (Puzzleship)
Find the hidden fleet from the number of ship cells in each row and column.
Every day: Six numbered fleets a day, from very easy to ultra hard and the same for everyone: find the hidden fleet from the row and column counts; past days are in an archive. New puzzle: Midnight in your own time zone, as the site states.

Puzzleship's Battleships is the solitaire version of the classic game, also known as Bimaru. Numbers beside each row and column say how many cells hold ship, the fleet list says which ships to find, and no two ships touch, even at a corner. From those facts alone the whole fleet can be placed.
About Battleships (Puzzleship)
Battleships turns the guessing game into pure deduction. The grid hides a fleet of ships of different lengths, listed beside the board. Each row and column has a number telling you how many of its cells are ship, and ships never touch one another, not even diagonally. There is no luck involved: the counts are enough to pin down every ship.
Most of a solve is bookkeeping done in the right order. Every ship cell you commit turns its diagonal neighbours into water, a line whose count is already met fills with water, and a line whose remaining unknown cells equal its count fills with ship. The biggest ship usually has the fewest places it could fit, so ruling out where it cannot go is the quickest way in.
Puzzleship publishes six fleets of Battleships a day, graded from very easy to ultra hard. Each day's fleets are numbered and dated, the same for every player, and appear at midnight in your own time zone; earlier days stay playable in the archive. The site is free with ads, and a premium plan removes them.
How to play Battleships (Puzzleship)
- Open Battleships and pick one of the day's six puzzles.
- Check the fleet list beside the grid to see which ships you need.
- Tap a cell to cycle it between water, ship and blank, or drag to mark several.
- Use the row and column counts, and the rule that ships never touch, to place every ship.
- Finish when every ship is placed and every count is met.
Tips
- As soon as you mark a ship cell, mark its four diagonal neighbours as water.
- Compare each line's count with its unknown cells: equal means all ship, met means all water.
- Place the largest ship first by working out where it cannot fit.
- Re-check the counts on every line you touch after each placement.
