Word Search (South China Morning Post)
Rate itMake as many words as you can from the day's scrambled letters, against the clock.
Every day: A dated set of scrambled letters each day (Tuesday, 6 October at /games/word-search/2026-10-06), the same for every reader, with earlier days in an archive. New puzzle: Once a day; each set is filed under its date.

Word Search on the South China Morning Post's games page is a timed word-making game, not a grid search: each day gives a set of scrambled letters, and you build English words of three letters or more from them to reach each level's target score. Longer words score more.
About Word Search (South China Morning Post)
The South China Morning Post, Hong Kong's English-language daily, added Word Search to its SCMP Games section beside its crossword and a mini sudoku. The name is a little misleading: there is no grid of hidden words. Each day's puzzle is a handful of scrambled letter tiles, and the game is to find as many valid English words in them as you can while a timer runs.
You click letters to spell a word and press Submit. Words must be at least three letters long and can use each letter only as often as it appears; a shuffle button rearranges the tiles when you get stuck. Every accepted word adds points, longer words more, and reaching the target score moves you up a level, so the day's set rewards both quick short words and the long ones hidden in it.
Each puzzle is filed under its date, so every reader gets the same letters that day, and past days sit in an archive. The paper says full access to SCMP Games comes with its app or a subscription.
It suits players of Spelling Bee and other make-words-from-letters games who like a clock and levels added.
