Apss Rowd is a daily password puzzle from the Here's What You Do quiz podcast. The password is a jumbled real four-letter word, and you guess other jumbles of real words; each square turns green if right, blue if the letter is too early in the alphabet, and orange if too late. Find it in as few guesses as you can.

About Apss Rowd

Apss Rowd, a scrambled password, is one of seven daily games made by the team behind Here's What You Do, a weekly UK quiz podcast. Each day's password is four letters long and is an anagram of a real word, but never the real word itself: what kind of password would that be.

Your guesses follow the same rule. Each guess must be an anagram of a word in the game's dictionary, and actual words are not accepted, so you are always typing jumbles. After each guess every square changes colour: green if that letter is correct in that position, blue if the letter is too early in the alphabet, and orange if it is too late. If the password were APSS and you guessed ASRT, the A would turn green and the S orange, since the right letter there is P. The password can be an anagram of a combination you have already tried, so the alphabet clues matter more than the letters themselves.

The day follows UK time. With a free Here's What You Do account you can keep stats and history and join a Friends Leaderboard that compares all seven of the site's daily games with friends and family.

Apss Rowd suits players who like Wordle-style deduction with a twist of anagram and alphabet logic.

How to play Apss Rowd

  1. Open Apss Rowd on hereswhatyoudo.co.uk.
  2. Type a four-letter guess that is an anagram of a real word, but not the word itself.
  3. Read each square: green is the right letter, blue means the right letter is later in the alphabet, orange means it is earlier.
  4. Use the alphabet clues to choose letters for your next jumble.
  5. Find the password in as few guesses as you can.

Tips

  • Treat each square as its own small alphabet search: blue means go later, orange means go earlier.
  • Your guesses must be jumbles of real words, so keep a few flexible four-letter words in mind, such as STAR, LANE or MITE.
  • Once you know the letters, remember the password is an arrangement that is not itself a word.
  • Log in to compare your score with friends across all seven Here's What You Do games.
