TV Addict, the daily game of guessing a TV show from five clues

TV Addict is a free daily TV show guessing game from the makers of Plot-hole. You start with a vague clue about the setting or genre, and each clue you reveal gets more specific, ending with the actors. Your score is the number of the clue you guessed on, five down to one, and a streak rewards playing every day.

About TV Addict

TV Addict is the television sister of Plot-hole, the daily movie game, and works the same way. Each day has a numbered show, the same for everyone, and past puzzles are in an archive.

The five clues count down. Clue 5 gives only a setting, a genre or a mood. The middle clues bring in a main character, the central conflict and a memorable moment. Clue 1 names the actors and the people behind the show. Guess the show on Clue 5 and you score 5; need every clue and you score 1; miss it entirely and you score 0.

Streaks reward daily play, with one free streak freeze that covers a missed day, and there is an all-time leaderboard. The game is free with no account, no ads and no paywall; optional donations add more freezes.

It suits viewers who remember what happens in a show better than who was in it, and Plot-hole players who watch more TV than films.

How to play TV Addict

  1. Open TV Addict and read Clue 5, the vaguest description of the day's show.
  2. Type a guess, or reveal the next clue.
  3. Each new clue is more specific: a character, the conflict, a memorable moment.
  4. Clue 1 names the actors and makers.
  5. Your score is the clue number you guessed on; share it and keep your streak.

Tips

  • The setting clue often points to a network's style: a hospital, a precinct or an office narrows the field.
  • Think about long-running shows first; the game favours series many people have seen.
  • A memorable-moment clue usually describes a famous scene or catchphrase.
  • Use the archive to learn how the clues are written.
