TF2DLE is a set of daily guessing games for Team Fortress 2 by Joakim Edvardsen. Each day there are two weapons to find, one from hints and one from its in-game attributes, a map to name from a zoomed-in picture, a cosmetic to identify and an unusual effect to recognise.

About TF2DLE

TF2DLE gathers five small daily puzzles about Team Fortress 2 on one page. Each mode has its own card on the home page that shows whether you have started or solved today's challenge, and all of them roll over together at midnight UTC.

The two weapon modes work differently. In Weapon you type a weapon and fill a table of hints such as the class that uses it and its qualities, with green, partial and wrong colours guiding you to the answer. Weapon 2 asks you to work out the day's weapon from its in-game attribute lines, the positive and negative stats printed on the item. Map shows a zoomed-in piece of a map that opens up as you guess, Cosmetic shows a greyed hat or misc item whose colour hints unlock as you go, and Unusual shows an unusual particle effect for you to name.

The site was made by Joakim Edvardsen, is free with no ads, and keeps patch notes; a July 2026 update added shareable results with an emoji grid and a stats panel with wins, average guesses and your best solve. It suits TF2 players who know their loadouts and their hat collections.

How to play TF2DLE

  1. Pick a mode from the home page: Weapon, Weapon 2, Map, Cosmetic or Unusual.
  2. Type a guess; the search box suggests matching items and maps.
  3. Read the coloured feedback or the newly revealed part of the picture after each guess.
  4. Keep guessing until you find the answer, then copy your result to share it.
  5. Come back after midnight UTC for the next set.

Tips

  • In Weapon, settle the class first; it removes most of the item list at once.
  • Weapon 2 attributes often name a unique effect, such as a mark-for-death or a damage penalty, that only a few weapons have.
  • In Map, look for textures and props that belong to one theme, such as the alpine or desert sets.
