Name the day's Destiny 2 weapon from its type, frame and ammo, or from a blurred picture.

Every day: Two puzzles a day, each a Destiny 2 weapon: one guessed from attribute hints in Classic mode, another from a blurred render in Image mode. The weapon is picked from the date, so everyone gets the same one. New puzzle: Midnight in your device's local time.

DESTINYDLE's Classic mode before the first guess: a Guess today's weapon panel with a weapon name box, a Submit button and the colour key for the hints

DESTINYDLE is a free daily guessing game about Destiny 2 weapons. Classic mode compares each guess with the day's weapon on type, frame, weight, rarity, ammo and use, and Image mode asks you to name a second weapon from a blurred render that sharpens as you guess.

About DESTINYDLE

DESTINYDLE is a fan-made daily game for Destiny 2 players, built on the Wordle and LoLdle pattern but about guns rather than characters. Its pool holds over a thousand weapons from the game's Legendary and Exotic arsenals, from hand cannons and pulse rifles to glaives, swords and combat bows. The site says it is not affiliated with Bungie.

There are two modes, each with its own weapon of the day. In Classic you type a weapon's name, pick it from the list, and get a row of six hints: type, subtype (the frame), weight, rarity, ammo and use. Green means the hint matches, red that it does not, and weight turns yellow when you are one step away, light against medium or medium against heavy. In Image mode there are no stat hints at all: you see a blurred render of the weapon, which softens after two guesses and is fully sharp after three.

The daily weapon is chosen from the date, so every player gets the same one, and a new one comes at midnight on your own clock. A toolbar shows the date of the puzzle, your guesses today and a streak of days won, kept in the browser. There is no account, and the site carries ads.

It suits Destiny 2 players who know their loadouts well enough to tell a precision frame from an aggressive one. The site can be switched between English and French, and its makers say more modes are coming.

How to play DESTINYDLE

  1. Open destinydle.com and choose Classic.
  2. Type a Destiny 2 weapon's name and pick it from the list.
  3. Read the six hints: type, subtype, weight, rarity, ammo and use; green is a match, yellow a weight one step away, red a miss.
  4. Use the hints to narrow the arsenal and guess again until you name the day's weapon.
  5. Switch to Image mode and name the second weapon from a blurred render that clears after two and three guesses.

Tips

  • Open with a common weapon type so the type and ammo hints rule out a large part of the arsenal at once.
  • Rarity splits the pool sharply: only about one weapon in eight is Exotic.
  • In Image mode, read the silhouette and colour of the render before it sharpens, and think of which frames share that shape.
