TCGuessr shows you a real Magic: The Gathering card with one part hidden behind a black box. The hidden part can be the card's name, its mana cost, type line, rules text, power and toughness, artwork, artist, set symbol or rarity, and you pick the answer from four options. The faster you answer correctly, the more points you score.

The Daily Quiz is the solo side of the game. Every day at midnight UTC it builds ten questions at the hard difficulty, and every player gets the same ten, so a score means the same thing for everyone that day. A countdown on the start screen shows how long is left before the next one.

Beside the daily, you can make a room and play with friends using a short code, with easy, moderate, hard and insane difficulties and room for spectators on a shared screen. Card images and data come from Scryfall. TCGuessr is unofficial fan content, free, with no account needed and no ads at present.

It suits Magic players who want to test how well they know the cards, from art to artist, in a few minutes a day.

How to play TCGuessr

1. Open tcguessr.com and type a display name.
2. Press Play today's daily to start the day's ten questions.
3. Look at the card and work out which part the black box hides.
4. Pick one of the four answers before the time runs out; quicker right answers score more.
5. See your score after the tenth card and compare it with friends who played the same quiz.

Tips

• Read the parts of the card that are still visible: the mana cost and type line often narrow down a name or a rules text.
• Hard distractors come from cards printed within a few years of the answer, so the set symbol and frame style matter.
• Play rooms on easy or moderate to learn the question types before taking on the daily.
