Steamdle

Name the day's Steam game from what its players wrote about it.

Every day: One numbered Steam game a day, the same for everyone, to name from its user reviews: one review at the start and another after each wrong guess, six in all. New puzzle: Midnight UTC.

Steamdle shows you a real Steam user review of a mystery game and asks you to name the game. Each wrong guess brings another review, with the reviewer's playtime and the date it was posted, and you have six clues in total.

About Steamdle

Steamdle, made by Wyatt McHalffey, turns Steam's review pages into a daily guessing game. The answer is a game on Steam, and the clues are reviews its players have written: some describe the game plainly, others are jokes, complaints or in-jokes that only make sense once you know the answer.

You start with one review. Type a title into the search box, which suggests games as you go, and submit your guess. If it is wrong, the next review appears, along with the hours the reviewer had played and when they posted it. After six clues the answer is revealed, with a link to its Steam page.

A new numbered puzzle arrives every day at midnight UTC, and the result can be shared as a short grid. Steamdle is free in the browser with no ads. It suits players who spend time in Steam's review sections and can recognise a game from its community's tone.

How to play Steamdle

  1. Read the first Steam review of the day's mystery game.
  2. Type a game title and choose it from the suggestions to guess.
  3. If you are wrong, read the next review and its playtime and date.
  4. Keep going until you name the game or use all six clues.
  5. Share your numbered result.

Tips

  • Joke reviews often quote a famous line or meme from the game; that can be the best clue.
  • Playtime matters: thousands of hours point to a long-running multiplayer or simulation game.
  • The posting date can rule out games released later.
