Steam Daily puzzle #240 open on the Price Check tab, with a game trailer, release date and review count above the price guesses

Steam Daily is a free fan-made puzzle site for PC gamers. Each day brings three minigames drawn from the top 2,000 Steam games: guess a game's store price, name five games that carry a given tag, and find four hidden groups of four games.

About Steam Daily

Steam Daily is an independent fan project, not connected to Valve, that turns the Steam store into a daily quiz. Each day has one numbered puzzle set, the same for every player, built from the 2,000 most reviewed games on Steam. Game details come from the public Steam Store and SteamSpy data.

Price Check shows you a game with its trailer, banner, screenshots, release date and review score, and asks for its current store price. You get five guesses with hot or cold feedback after each one. Tag Hunt gives you a Steam store tag such as Open World, Roguelike or Co-op and asks you to name five games that carry it.

Connections works like the New York Times game but with Steam titles: sixteen games, four hidden groups of four, linked by shared tags or other traits. Each game in the set links back to its store page, so the puzzles double as a way to find something new to play.

When you finish the daily set you can keep going with unlimited random puzzles. There are no accounts and no sign-up, and progress for the day is kept in your browser. It suits people who spend a lot of time browsing Steam and like to think they know what things cost.

How to play Steam Daily

  1. Open Price Check, study the game's trailer and reviews, and guess its Steam price within five tries.
  2. Switch to Tag Hunt and name five games that have the day's store tag.
  3. Open Connections and sort sixteen games into four groups of four.
  4. Play random puzzles once the daily set is done.

Tips

  • In Price Check, the release date and review count hint at whether a game is a full-price release or a budget indie.
  • For Tag Hunt, start with the best-known hits: popular games are most likely to carry broad tags.
  • In Connections, look for the odd tag that only four games could share before going for the obvious groups.
