ClueTube hides a well-known YouTube video and shows you what people wrote under it. You start with one comment and get another after each wrong guess, up to six. Name the video and you see it, its view count and how other players did.

About ClueTube

ClueTube is a daily guessing game built on YouTube comment sections. Each day it picks one video, often a famous upload, a meme or a piece of internet history, and shows its top comments one at a time with the commenter's handle and how long ago they posted.

The first comment is usually the vaguest. Each wrong guess reveals another, and you have six attempts in all. Your guess does not have to match the title word for word: each puzzle accepts many ways of naming the video, from its full title to the channel or a short description. When the day is over you get a link to the video and its view count.

The site keeps daily stats and a streak, and a calendar archive lets you play past days; archive games do not change your daily stats. It suits people who have spent years on YouTube and remember the jokes that pile up under a famous video.

How to play ClueTube

  1. Open ClueTube and read the first comment.
  2. Type the video you think it was posted under and submit.
  3. After a wrong guess, read the next comment for more context.
  4. Keep going until you name the video or use all six attempts.
  5. Watch the video from the link and share your result.

Tips

  • Timestamps help: 'seven years ago' narrows the video to a period.
  • Comments often quote a line or a meme from the video; search your memory for the phrase.
  • You do not need the exact title; the channel or a plain description is often accepted.
  • Use the archive on slow days to learn the kind of videos the game picks.
