Name the day's graphics card or processor from its specs in eight guesses.

Every day: One numbered part a day (#31, a GPU day, on Oct 5, 2026), the same for every player: a desktop graphics card or processor to name in eight guesses, with GPU days and CPU days alternating. New puzzle: Midnight local time (the game says a new puzzle every day at midnight, your time).

Specdle

Specdle share art: the name Specdle, Guess the GPU or CPU from its specs, and a row of spec tiles 2016, $599, 8 GB, 180 W, 80 and Pascal

Specdle is a daily guessing game for PC builders. Type any real graphics card or processor and see how it compares with the hidden part on vendor, launch year, launch price, memory or core count, power, tier and architecture, with arrows toward the answer. You have eight guesses; GPU days and CPU days alternate.

About Specdle

Specdle applies the attribute-comparison format of games like Countryle to PC hardware. The board tells you whether today is a GPU day or a CPU day; on GPU days the answer can be any desktop graphics card from 2006 onward. You type a part you know, and the game lines it up against the answer.

Each spec gets a mark: a tick for an exact match, a tilde for close (within a year, or within 10 percent on price and power), and an up or down arrow for whether the answer is newer, pricier, bigger, hungrier or a higher tier. Tier is the digit in the model name, so an RTX 3070 is 70-class and a Ryzen 5 is 5-series. Launch price is the US launch price, and power is the maker's own figure for that era.

The puzzle is numbered and changes at midnight on your clock. Streaks count only the day's puzzle, and an archive keeps past ones. The site publishes its GPU and CPU spec tables, drawn from Wikipedia under CC BY-SA 4.0.

How to play Specdle

  1. Open specdle.com and check whether today is a GPU day or a CPU day.
  2. Type the name of any real part and pick it from the list.
  3. Read each column: tick for a match, tilde for close, arrows for higher or lower.
  4. Use the arrows to narrow vendor, year, price, tier and architecture with your next guess.
  5. Find the part within eight guesses, or play past days from the archive.

Tips

  • Open with a mid-range part from the middle of the era, such as a 60-class card from around 2016.
  • Architecture narrows things fastest once the vendor is known.
  • Remember tier is the model digit: a 90-class card and a 50-class card differ a lot in price and power.
  • The close marker on price means within 10 percent, so adjust only a little.
