About Throttle

Throttle brings the attribute-guessing format to cars. Each guess is a specific model, and seven columns come back: model, make, origin, body, era, horsepower and engine. Make is green for the exact maker and yellow for one from the same country. Origin is yellow for the same region (Asia, the Americas or Europe) but a different country. Era is yellow within one decade, with an arrow toward the answer. Horsepower is shown in bands of ten, yellow within 50 hp, with arrows for higher or lower. Body style and engine are simply right or wrong.

The daily car changes at midnight Eastern Standard Time, counted from 1 January 2025, and is the same for everyone. After the daily you can keep going in unlimited mode, which uses the full list of more than 850 cars. Signing in with Google or email keeps your streak and stats across devices, and you can set a racer name and an accent colour.

It suits car fans who can tell a hot hatch from a muscle car by the numbers.

How to play Throttle

1. Open throttle-game.com and read How to Play.
2. Type a car model and pick it from the list.
3. Read the tiles for make, origin, body, era, horsepower and engine.
4. Use the colours and arrows to choose a closer car.
5. Find the mystery car within eight tries, then try unlimited mode.

Tips

• Open with a mid-power car from a big maker to test origin, era and horsepower at once.
• A yellow make tile tells you the country; switch to that country's other brands.
• Horsepower arrows plus era narrow a model line to one generation.
