Autopedle

Autopedle Classic: a Honda Civic guess with coloured make, country, body, drive, fuel and year clues

Autopedle is a free set of seven daily car games in the browser. Each day you name a mystery car from clues and from a zoomed-in photo, call higher or lower on years, power and prices, sort a timeline, guess a launch price and year, and fill a car trivia grid. Everyone gets the same puzzles, and there is no account to make.

About Autopedle

Autopedle is a fan-made site of daily car puzzles, built in the Wordle mould for people who know their cars. Its first day was 7 October 2026, and every puzzle changes for everyone at midnight UTC.

The day has seven games. Classic is the guess-the-car game: type any car and each guess is compared with the day's car by make, country, body, drivetrain, fuel and launch year, in green, yellow and red, with eight guesses. Zoom shows a photo from very close and pulls back with every miss, over six guesses. Higher / Lower runs three chains of ten calls, on launch year, horsepower and launch price in today's money. Timeline asks you to put five cars in order in three tries, Price Is Right gives six guesses at what a car cost new with higher or lower hints, and Guess the Year shows five cars from five decades. Grid is a 3x3 car trivia grid: each square needs a car that fits its row and its column, such as a British brand launched in the 2010s, with nine guesses and a rarity score for unusual answers.

Grand Prix strings all seven together against the clock, once a day, with up to 1,000 points a stage and a daily leaderboard under a nickname you choose. An archive lets you play every past day, though those games do not count toward your streaks.

Progress, streaks and stats stay in your browser, with no sign-up. Car photos are used under Creative Commons licences or from the public domain, and each one is credited. It suits car fans who want more than one quick guess a day.

How to play Autopedle

  1. Open autopedle.com and pick one of the seven games, or Race to play the Grand Prix.
  2. In Classic, type a car and read the coloured clues for make, country, body, drivetrain, fuel and year, then guess again within eight tries.
  3. In Zoom, name the car from the close-up photo; each miss zooms the picture out, and you have six guesses.
  4. In Higher / Lower, Timeline, Price Is Right and Guess the Year, compare launch years, horsepower and prices to call or place each car.
  5. In Grid, tap a square and type a car that fits both its row and its column; each car counts once and you have nine guesses for the grid.
  6. Come back after midnight UTC for the next day's seven puzzles, or play missed days from the archive.

Tips

  • In Classic, a yellow year means the answer launched within five years of your guess, and the arrow says newer or older.
  • Prices in Higher / Lower and Timeline are in today's dollars, adjusted for inflation, so an old car can rank higher than its sticker price suggests.
  • Production years run from the first year a car was built anywhere to the last, so long-lived models like the original Beetle end later than you might think.
  • In Grid, a less common car that fits gives a better rarity score than the obvious pick.
