Garage Grid
Rate itName a different car for each of nine squares, each one matching its row and its column.
Every day: One new 3x3 grid a day, numbered and the same for every player: three row clues and three column clues about cars, with each pick scored by how many other players chose it that day. New puzzle: Not stated; a new numbered grid each calendar day, with earlier days listed by date in the archive..

Garage Grid is a free daily car trivia game from Piston Arcade. Each day brings a 3x3 grid with car clues along the rows and columns, and you name a car that fits both clues for every square. Three wrong answers end the game, and rarer picks give a lower, better score.
About Garage Grid
Garage Grid is a daily car knowledge game on Piston Arcade, a small site of free automotive puzzles. Each grid is numbered, and everyone who plays on a given day gets the same one.
The grid has three clues across the top and three down the side. A row might ask for a Japanese car, a car under 200 hp or a car named after an animal, and a column might ask for a car under 2,866 lb, an engine of 3.0 litres or more, or front-wheel drive. You pick a square, search for a car by maker, model, generation or another name, and it is accepted if it meets both clues. Each car can be used only once, and a wrong answer counts as a mistake. Three mistakes end the game, and you can also give up and leave squares empty.
Scoring follows the format of sports grids like Immaculate Grid. Every correct car carries a rarity percentage based on how well known it is and on what other players have picked in past grids. Your score adds those percentages, plus 100 for each empty square, so a low score means you found cars few others thought of. A panel beside the grid shows the day's completion rate, average squares filled and share of perfect grids.
Missed days stay playable in the archive, which lists every past grid by date alongside the site's other daily car games. It suits anyone who knows their cars, from classic models to current ones, and wants a short daily test of that knowledge.
How to play Garage Grid
- Open the day's grid and read the three row clues and the three column clues.
- Choose an empty square where a row and a column meet.
- Search for a car by manufacturer, model, generation or another name it goes by, and pick one that fits both clues.
- Keep filling squares with a different car each time; a car that does not fit counts as a mistake.
- Finish when all nine squares are filled, after three mistakes, or by giving up; your score adds each pick's rarity plus 100 for every empty square, and lower is better.
Tips
- Start with the hardest crossing, since the easier squares leave more room later.
- Save the obvious cars for squares where nothing else fits; a less common model scores better where you have a choice.
- Search by generation or chassis name when one model changed a lot over the years, so the version you mean is the one checked against the clues.
- Play missed days from the archive to get used to the kinds of clues that come up.
