Solid Sudoku is a classic 9x9 sudoku app for iPhone, iPad and Android, styled to look like a printed puzzle page. Its Daily Challenge is one seeded puzzle a day, identical for every player, and once you solve it you see what share of players you beat on time. There are no ads and no account.
About Solid Sudoku: Daily Puzzle
The daily screen shows the date, a choice of Easy, Medium, Hard or Expert and a calendar where solved days turn green. A day counts toward your streak at any difficulty, so the streak is about showing up rather than always picking the hardest grid. After solving, a card shows your time, mistakes and hints, and a line such as faster than 82% of players. The percentile needs a connection, but the daily puzzle itself plays offline.
All puzzles are generated on the device and have exactly one solution, reachable by deduction. The board has notes for pencil marks that clear when you fill a cell, three hints per game that each add 30 seconds to your adjusted time, full undo and redo, highlighting for the selected row, column, box and matching digits, and a number pad that counts how many of each digit are left. Three mistakes end the round. Stoic quotes from Marcus Aurelius, Epictetus and Seneca sit under the board.
Solid Sudoku is made by DoorGames, LLC and came to the App Store in September 2026. Everything is free for seven days; after that one unlock keeps the game, either a yearly subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase. It has no ads and no sign-in, and the app is available in eight languages.
How to play Solid Sudoku: Daily Puzzle

- Pick Easy, Medium, Hard or Expert and press Play.
- Fill the grid so every row, column and 3x3 box holds the digits 1 to 9 once each.

- Finish before your third mistake to see your time and percentile, then share the result.

Tips
- Watch the small counts under the number pad: a digit with 1 left is often the quickest place to look next.
- Turn Notes on in harder grids; the marks clear themselves when you fill a cell, so you do not have to tidy up.
- Your streak counts any difficulty, so on a busy day play Easy to keep it going.
- Pausing stops the timer, so pause rather than leave the app running if you get interrupted.
