Slidemoji is the classic sliding tile puzzle with an emoji as the picture. Each day brings one numbered puzzle where a familiar emoji is cut into tiles and scrambled, and you slide tiles into the empty space until the picture is restored. Solving earns that day's emoji as a trophy.

About Slidemoji

Slidemoji is a small browser puzzle by Nikhil Nathwani. It takes the old fifteen-puzzle idea, tiles in a frame with one gap, and uses a single emoji as the picture to rebuild.

Puzzles are numbered from 4 May 2026 (No. 153 fell on 3 October 2026), and the number comes from the date, so everyone gets the same emoji on the same day. The emoji are drawn from a list that covers animals, food, objects, faces and symbols.

A round starts with the emoji scrambled across the grid. You tap or slide tiles next to the empty space to move them, and the puzzle ends when every tile is back in place. You can choose Normal or Hard difficulty and turn on numbers on the tiles if the picture alone is too hard to read. Solving earns the day's emoji as a trophy for your collection, and signing in with an email keeps trophies across devices.

The current day is free; an archive of past puzzles is unlocked with a one-time purchase. It suits anyone who wants a quick, wordless puzzle to start the day.

How to play Slidemoji

  1. Open Slidemoji and press Play to load today's numbered puzzle.
  2. Pick Normal or Hard difficulty.
  3. Slide a tile next to the gap into the empty space.
  4. Keep moving tiles until the emoji is whole and every tile sits in place.
  5. Collect the day's emoji trophy and share your result.

Tips

  • Solve the top row first, then the next, and leave the last two rows for the end.
  • Turn on Show Numbers if the emoji's colours make tiles hard to tell apart.
  • Fix the final corner tiles by cycling three tiles around the gap rather than undoing finished rows.
