Slidesmith on TryHard Puzzles

Slidesmith #22, Easy, October 6, 2026: a 5x5 board of red circle, green square and yellow triangle tiles with one gap and a wall, beside round 1 of 5, a Square pattern to build, and par 7

Slidesmith is TryHard Puzzles' own daily sliding puzzle. On a 5x5 board of red circles, green squares and yellow triangles with one gap, you slide tiles to build five small patterns in a row, and your score is the number of moves against par. Three runs come out every day at midnight UTC, easy, medium and hard.

About Slidesmith (TryHard Puzzles)

Slidesmith is an original game by TryHard Puzzles, the free site that also runs daily Star Battle and Queens boards. The board is five by five: eight red circles, eight yellow triangles, eight green squares and one gap. Tapping a tile in the same row or column as the gap slides every tile between them one step toward it, and that is one move. Dark bars on the board are walls that nothing slides through; they change every day.

A run is five rounds on the same board. Each round shows a small pattern, such as a square of four tiles in set colours, and you build it anywhere on the board, exactly as drawn. The board carries over, so each round starts from where the last one left the tiles. There is no clock: the score is your total moves, and par, shown before you start, is the fewest moves the server needed to play each round on its own. Since par looks at one round at a time, spending a move early to set up a later round can sometimes beat it.

Three runs go live at midnight UTC: Easy (par usually 5 to 7 moves), Medium (9 to 12) and Hard (12 to 15). They are the same for everyone, numbered (Slidesmith #22 on 6 October 2026), and can be replayed as often as you like, with only your best run counting. Past runs stay in the archive, and the next day's route page shows the best lines. Clearing any run keeps your streak; a free account saves it across devices.

It suits players who like planning a few moves ahead without time pressure, and anyone who enjoyed sliding-tile toys but wants a score to beat.

How to play Slidesmith (TryHard Puzzles)

  1. Open Slidesmith and pick today's Easy, Medium or Hard run.
  2. Tap a tile in line with the gap; every tile between them slides one step toward it.
  3. Build the round's pattern anywhere on the board, exactly as drawn.
  4. Carry on through all five rounds on the same board.
  5. Finish in as few moves as you can, aiming for par or under, then replay to improve.

Tips

  • Look for where the pattern is already nearly made before you move anything.
  • Use the Next preview to leave tiles where the following round will want them.
  • Remember walls block slides just like the board's edge.
