Pivots
The 1-D cube puzzle: pivot four numbers at a time to restore 1 2 3 4 5 6.
Every day: A daily set of Pivots puzzles generated from the date, the same for everyone: restore the shuffled row 1 2 3 4 5 6 using a set number of four-number pivots. New puzzle: Midnight, local time.

Pivots is a small puzzle by Martin Kool of PuzzlePass.io, billed as the 1-D cube puzzle. The numbers 1 to 6 are shuffled in a row, and each move pivots a group of four of them; the goal is to get back to 1 2 3 4 5 6 in the required number of pivots. Daily pivots are the same for everyone, and training and speedrun modes sit alongside.
About Pivots
Pivots takes the idea of a twisty cube puzzle and squeezes it into one dimension. A row holds the numbers 1 to 6 in a scrambled order. Clicking pivots four neighbouring numbers, turning them around, and clicking again undoes the move. Each puzzle tells you how many pivots it needs, and your task is to find the sequence that restores 1 2 3 4 5 6.
The daily pivots are generated from the date, one for each difficulty level by number of pivots, so every player faces the same set that day, and a countdown shows when new pivots arrive. Hints are switched off in the daily puzzles; to learn techniques there is a Training mode with hints, and a Speedrun section for players who want to race the clock with quick-pivot buttons.
The game was designed and built by Martin Kool, who publishes it under PuzzlePass.io. It keeps statistics and best times, and results can be shared.
It suits fans of Rubik-style puzzles who want a short daily brain-teaser, and anyone who likes thinking a few moves ahead.

Tips
- Work backwards: think about which last pivot would finish the row.
- Note which numbers are already in place and avoid disturbing them late on.
- Learn two-pivot patterns in Training before tackling longer dailies.
- In Speedrun, use the quick buttons rather than clicking the row.
