Kalameh Bazi, the Persian Wordle: the title کلمه بازی over an empty grid of six rows of five tiles and a Persian keyboard with Enter and Delete keys

Kalameh Bazi, the word game, is a free Persian version of Wordle. Each day there is one hidden five-letter Persian word, the same for everyone, which you find in six guesses on an on-screen Persian keyboard, typing right to left.

About کلمه بازی (Persian Wordle)

Kalameh Bazi (کلمه بازی) is Wordle for Persian, written in the Persian alphabet from right to left. Its share line asks how many tries you need to guess today's word. The on-screen keyboard carries the full Persian alphabet, including the letters Persian adds to Arabic script, پ, چ, ژ and گ, and the code behind the game is open source on GitHub as wordle-farsi.

Play follows Wordle. You type a five-letter word and press Enter, and the tiles change colour: green when the letter is in the right place, yellow when it is in the word but elsewhere, grey when it is not in the word. The help, statistics and the rest of the interface are in Persian, and a countdown shows when the new word arrives. There is a dark mode.

The answer is picked by counting days from 10 July 2024, so everyone gets the same word on the same date, and it changes at midnight in your own time zone. Kalameh Bazi runs in the browser with no account.

How to play کلمه بازی (Persian Wordle)

  1. Open Kalameh Bazi and type a five-letter Persian word on the on-screen keyboard; it fills from right to left.
  2. Press Enter to check it.
  3. Read the tiles: green is the right letter in the right place, yellow is in the word elsewhere, grey is not in the word.
  4. Use those clues in your next guess.
  5. Find the word in six tries or fewer and share your result.

Tips

  • Count letters as written, not sounds: short vowels are usually not written in Persian, so a five-letter word can be longer when spoken.
  • آ and ا are separate keys and count as different letters.
  • Open with a word that uses common letters such as ا, ر, ن, د and ی.
