Paroletta
Guess the day's Italian five-letter word in six tries, with hints made for learners.
Every day: One Italian five-letter word a day, the same for everyone, guessed in six tries. Your level (A1 to C2) only changes how much help you start with, never the word, and after solving there is one question of the day that everyone answers. New puzzle: Once a day (the site does not state the time).

Paroletta is a daily Italian word game for people learning the language. Everyone gets the same five-letter word each day and six tries to find it, with Wordle-style colours. Hints give an example sentence, the English meaning and then a letter, so a learner is never stuck in front of an empty grid.
About Paroletta
Paroletta plays like Wordle in Italian: guess the day's five-letter word in six tries, every guess a real word, with green for the right letter in the right place, yellow for a right letter in the wrong place and grey for a letter not in the word. It is built for learners, where not knowing the word is normal rather than a failure.
Everyone plays the same word each day. You pick a level from A1 to C2, which does not change the word but sets how much help you start with: at A1 and A2 an Italian example sentence with a gap is already open, and from B1 up you start from an empty grid. The hint button then reveals the sentence, the English meaning and a letter, and only hints beyond your level's starting point count against your score. When the guesses run out, the word and its meaning are always shown, and a shared result shows your level in brackets.
After the word comes la domanda del giorno, a small question in Italian that is the same for everyone; you answer in a word or two if you like and can read what other players wrote. The app also has Vocabolario, three minutes of telling real Italian words from invented ones, and Categorie, sixteen Italian words in four groups of four.
Paroletta is free, with no ads, no in-app purchases and no account. It plays in the browser at paroletta.com, as an iPhone app, and as an Android app the maker offers as a direct download. The word list comes from openly licensed sources (Wiktionary, Tatoeba and OpenSubtitles frequency data). It is published by Zen Space Labs and came out in August 2026.

Tips
- Read the example sentence closely: the gap often fixes the word class, such as a verb form or a plural.
- Italian words often end in a vowel; testing the last letter early can save guesses.
- Only hints above your level's baseline count in your score, so pick an honest level.
- Try Vocabolario between days to grow the word list you can guess from.
